From the Empty Tomb to the Upper Room
A 50-Day Journey with Jesus' Disciples
"Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures." — Luke 24:45
"But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you." — Matthew 6:33
Something extraordinary happened in the days after the resurrection.
For forty days, Jesus walked with His disciples — appearing to them, eating with them, speaking with them — and opening their minds to understand the Scriptures. Before He ascended, He restored the souls of those who had watched Him die, reframing and revealing all that was written about the Kingdom of God. It had been there all along, but it wasn't until after the Cross that He give them eyes to see.
Luke tells us that when He finally ascended and the disciples returned to Jerusalem, they were filled with great joy (Luke 24:52). Not overwhelming grief or fatigue. Not cautious hope. Great joy — the kind that can only come from revelation. From having seen, heard, and received understanding that changes everything.
That joy is the litmus test of this journey.
This is 50 days — from Resurrection Sunday through Pentecost — walking in the footsteps of those first disciples. Through the empty tomb and into the Upper Room. Through the opened Scriptures and toward the rushing wind that changed the world.
Each day invites us deeper into what Jesus revealed to His own: that the Kingdom of God is not a distant hope, but a present reality — one that He is still opening our minds to understand. We invite you to seek it with us. To pray with expectation. To ask the Lord to reveal His Kingdom to us as He revealed it to them.
Join us for 50 Days of Prayer — a daily prayer call uniting the Body of Christ every morning from Resurrection Sunday, April 5 through Pentecost Sunday, May 24, 2026 — 7:30-8:00 AM CDT.
